Information for Parents

We encourage parents to become fully involved in the education of their children. Students and parents enter into a partnership agreement on joining our school which symbolises the joint approach to school and parents working together for the benefit of the young people in our care.

Contact between parents and teachers is very important and there will be regular opportunities to meet teachers and discuss your child’s work, attitude to learning and progress. There will also be regular written reports.

School Uniform:

We are proud of our school and our students and we like to feel that they carry their identity with them into the community. The uniform is available from PMG Schoolwear, and the more general items can also be obtained from other suppliers. More information on the school uniform can be found on the uniform page.

Pastoral System:

When students first join the school, parents are asked to provide at least one address and telephone number where they may be contacted during the day in case of emergency. Should anyone be involved in an accident, we are able to provide First Aid at school. However, if the injuries are anything but very minor, it is our policy to consult a doctor. When this occurs you will be needed to give consent for any further treatment. We rely on families to inform us if there is any change in the details of an emergency contact. It is also most helpful if the school can be informed of any specific short or long term medical problem or handicap which may affect your child's ability to get the most from school life.

Late Buses:

The late buses are available on everyday 4:15pm.

Music Tuition:

Alde Valley Academy offers excellent opportunities for students to take extra tuition in a range of musical instruments. These additional lessons are provided by musicians who are experts in their musical fields.
